Tips for Wide Format Printing

Helpful Hints for Wide Format Printing!

Acceptable Formats:
PC or MAC Based
High resolution PDF
Adobe Illustrator CS2
Adobe Photoshop CS2
Corel Draw 12.0
Quark 6.0

Please Note: PageMaker can be used on certain occasions but is NOT Recommended. Word and PowerPoint can also be used but we can't always guarantee great results.

All files must be prepared at a minimum of 100 DPI at full size.

Example – If you prepare a 4” x 6” image at 400 dpi we can enlarge it to a maximum size of 16” x 24” at 100 dpi. This image can be pushed about 10% larger but after that image quality is sacrificed. All images must also be converted to CMYK. Vectored art from Illustrator or Corel can be output at any size without losing image quality. Color specifications must also be noted and if possible a color correct hard copy must be provided with the project. Try to avoid using low-resolution images in the layouts because they will not provide a quality print when enlarged. Digital photos shot at the highest setting on the camera can be used at 72 dpi. It is not recommended that the image be enlarged over the original size.
